DIY Wrap to Onbag Conversion

For those that haven’t come across them, Onbags are bags specifically designed for babywearers. They have no hard parts in, are big enough to carry everything you need for a day out with a kid, and you can wear them in any number of different ways. I was given a black one with a pink lining a few months ago by a good friend of mine and I use it every day. So I decided to make myself a new one for myself based on the DIY Onbag pattern that you can find here:

I wanted to use a wrap to make the bag, but chopping up a 4.6m wrap seemed a bit expensive. I managed to get my hands on a 2.5m Hoppediz Florenz to use, but this gave me a problem – the strap is 3.3m long, but my wrap was only 2.5m. So, I did a bit of pattern customization and pieced the strap together (with a lot of reinforcement!)

I took photos as I went along… I’ll post them up with an explanation of how I did the strap when I am a little less tired. 🙂

Perfect for spring!

Emma is getting so big now! But hey – I can’t believe that between me stopping posting and starting again, you not only had a baby but now he is 6 months old!!! Very belated congratulations! xx

I have seen this bag in Wallingford! I even chatted to the lady wearing it about how much I liked it… was it you?
